I took Artemisia’s seduction of Themistocles as “I’d rather have you as a mate/ally/general than as an enemy”. Sure, she could kill him on the battlefield, but that would have been a waste. I thought that she was impressed with his tactics and battle prowess.

Yeah, if Cyborg was in college I think it would have made more sense, honestly.

As to Shazam, the way he was portrayed was really terrible. Part of me enjoyed it, part of me didn’t. It was nice to see a fresh take, but on the other hand, it failed so horribly. I get that the main reason was to provide a dynamic between him and Cyborg, being the ‘kids’ yet Shazam really just seemed obnoxious and just rather odd.

Glad you liked it Gary.
I forgot to mention that with Cyborg. From his voice to the size of that football stadium it seemed much more like he was in college than high school.

I was fine with Flash & Green Lantern and Batman & Green Lantern, but the others didn’t work for me at all. My main question is did you like Shazam?

I don’t agree with your review. I typically do not enjoy DC 52, but I found the movie enjoyable. As to your points on the script, I can concur with some items, but on second watching of War, Cyborg really, well bugs me. I mean, he’s supposed to be an 18 year old kid, right? He sure doesn’t act or sound like it.

To me, the comic this is based off seems to be a “working” view of how to translate the Justice League to an actual movie. While the same story likely won’t be used, some of the character interactions in this animated film are pretty decent.

I loved GL’s portrayal in “Crisis” and “Doom.” The screenwriter really should have just based his GL on that version.
“Young Justice” Captain Marvel was great as was “JLU,” but this version is terrible.
Darkseid was a menace right until he turned into Gorilla Grodd and running around on his fists in that final battle scene. Ugh.

I also have to agree. Personally I found Green Lanterns portrayal to be the most grating but almost all of the characters seemed to lack any of the attributes that make them who they are. Batman constantly reminding GL to concentrate and the fight between GL and Superman were just gratuitous. Capt. Marvel was next in my opinion. He’s supposed to be endowed with wisdom but showed absolutely none. Superman Seemed to enjoy causing massive and unnecessary property damage on his beloved Metropolis. Honestly I’m surprised they got their powers right it was so bad. Then there is the voice casting. I can’t think of a single voice with the exception of Cyborgs and Darkseids that seemed right. The one positive thing I can say is that for once Darkseid seemed like an actual menace. This one will not end up in my DVD purchases and that is a first for me.
